I went to my WI this morning to survey the damage. It was NOT good. I was right, I’ve got about 10 pound to lose to get back to where I was a month ago. I’m sure a bit of that is water retention from all of the salty foods I’ve been shoveling into my mouth these past few days, but most of it is definitely fat. I can see it in my face and my stomach. UGH!

Anyway, I picked up Beck yesterday and today and kept right on reading, like it was the first time I’d read the words. I found the old response cards that I created and will create more along the way as I read the book. And since I’ve already read through the book and had my old cards, today I knew what things I need to be doing to make this journey a successful one.

I guess you could say that I’m on Day 4. Give yourself credit. This one is easy for me, honestly. I KNOW losing weight isn’t easy and I think it’s a good thing to give myself credit for those little things that push me in the right direction. Beck is right, giving myself credit really boosts my confidence and encourages me to keep doing these positive things.

So here goes:

I ate everything sitting down! I went to Stew Leonards today and you know that place ALWAYS has samples. Lobster rolls. Pastrami on Rye. Sweet potato chips. I didn’t have not one sample. Credit moi.

I was in Target and you know I LOVE their popcorn. The counter person had just made a fresh batch. Usually I’ll buy popcorn it and eat it while I walk around the store. At first I wasn’t gonna have any, but I decided to indulge. So I bought it, put it in a bag, and waited till I got home. I didn’t even eat it in the car, which technically would have been me sitting down. I got home, counted out a few servings, put them in a bowl, sat down, and ate. Credit moi.

I cooked dinner and did not eat one bite standing up. Credit moi.

And I went to brunch with my mom and stayed OP. Credit moi.

I decided to do Flex with mostly Core foods this week and see how that goes. I told my WW leader Terry that I’ve hit a plateau and she suggested that I point out what I’ve been eating, thinking maybe I’m eating too much, much more than my body needs which is why I wasn’t losing. Now granted, alot of that was me as well, not being honest with her or with myself about my eating, but I thought about it and decided that I might need the structure that the Flex plan provides as far as portion sizes and the whole once you’re points for the day are done you STOP eating. Flex also lets me eat foods that aren’t allowed on the Core plan without the feelings of “oh I can’t eat this, it’s not core.” I missed little snacks and treats on Core and I can have them on the Flex plan. I will just try not to go overboard.

Tonights tasks: Write more advantages response cards for the bathroom mirror, plan out this week’s meals, and maybe wash my hair. My arms been acting up, but it’s feeling good now so I might wash my hair now while I still can.

Oh! I bought P90X from QVC and it was shipped today! I can’t wait to get started. I’m gonna give my arm a few weeks to heal and start P90X on April 1st. In the meantime I’ve decided not to do weights until then. Only cardio. So that means no more NROL4W. I want to make SURE my arms is okay for P90X so I don’t want to aggravate it with heavy weight work until then. I’m gonna wait and see how my arms holds up and them buy some bands to use as an alternative to pull ups. I’ve bought two different pull up bars that are supposed to anchor to the door, but apparently my doors are too small for any of them. I was really looking forward to doing assisted pull ups, but it just wasn’t meant to be. So no assisted pull ups. Just the resistance bands and my hallway door.

I absolutely love my P90X Pull-Up bar. Not that I can very many pull-ups but the bar is great. I hope you enjoy P90X. It’s quite a challenge.
